Business Development Manager

We’re working with a well-established and growing UK investment manager who is making a new growth hire within their distribution team. This is an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of a key Northern region, with a remit focused on growing AUM through UK intermediary relationships.

 

The role offers a balanced mix of new business generation and development/retention of existing accounts, with strong internal support and access to a broad investment proposition including bespoke portfolios, MPS and funds.

 

The Role

• Drive new business flows and retain existing assets across the North
• Develop and deepen relationships with UK intermediary firms (IFAs)
• Work closely with Investment Managers to execute regional growth plans
• Promote investment solutions through face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, events and calls
• Articulate investment and market insights, drawing on input from Multi-Asset, CIO and fund teams
• Represent the business at adviser events, seminars and conferences
• Feed market intelligence back into the business to support proposition development
• Maintain accurate CRM reporting and ensure all activity is compliant with FCA and Consumer Duty requirements

 

The Ideal Profile

• Proven experience in a BDM or intermediary-facing sales role within wealth or asset management
• Strong understanding of UK adviser firms across the North
• Solid knowledge of investment products, ideally including multi-asset strategies
• Commercial, self-motivated and comfortable in a growth-focused, less structured environment
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Confident engaging with advisers, investment professionals and internal stakeholders

Backgrounds from asset managers, DFMs, platforms or providers will all be considered.
