The 1% Club – BWD LinkedIn Live Series

Atomic Habits of a Top 1% Leader – with Anthony Ward BSc FPFS

What separates a true leader from someone who is simply managing a team?

That’s one of the questions we’ll be exploring in the latest session of The 1% Club, BWD’s free LinkedIn Live series.

The 1% Club brings together some of the financial planning profession’s most successful practitioners and leaders to get under the bonnet of what makes them so successful — and turn their experience into practical insight others can use.

For this session, James Woods and Alistair Brownlee will be joined by Anthony Ward BSc FPFS, Business Head at Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management.

Anthony brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial planning and is a former Board Member and President of the PFS. Away from work, he is also a marathon runner and competitive indoor rower — so there should be plenty to explore around performance, mindset and resilience too.

Anthony will be joining us in an individual capacity to share his personal reflections on leadership, career development and the financial planning profession.

We’ll be discussing:

  • Anthony’s journey from adviser to leader
  • What separates a true leader from a manager
  • Creating high-performing cultures
  • Getting better through marginal gains
  • Mindset, identity and resilience
  • Giving back to the profession and his time at the PFS
  • The future of financial planning

Whether you’re an experienced leader looking to keep developing or a financial adviser considering the move into management, this session is designed to give you practical ideas you can take away and apply.
